AMMAN, APRIL 2010 – The Children’s Museum Jordan and Union Bank announced a one-year partnership in which Union Bank is a major donor to the Children’s Museum in 2010, and most notably the main partner in “Celebrations”, a program of year-round interactive festivities that allow children to celebrate national occasions and explore their identity, heritage and values belonging to the Jordanian society as announced in the press conference on March 31st at the Children’s Museum. On this behalf, a joint agreement was signed from her Excellency Mrs. Nadia Al Saeed “Union Bank General Manager”, Mr. Khalid Al-Zou’bi “Head of Corporate Communication and Marketing at Union Bank” , Mrs. Nisreen Haram “ General Manager ” at Children’s Museum and Mrs. Rania Al-Malki “ Children’s Museum development manager” .
“Celebrations” includes the Museum’s special programs and events that mark six major occasions, namely Labor Day, Eid Al Fiter, Eid Al Adha, Christmas, Mother’s Day and above all Independence Day, which is distinguished by an annual and unique colorful Jordanian Carnival that attracts thousands of visitors.
Union Bank’s generous annual donation to the Children’s Museum Jordan, a non-profit educational organization launched by HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2007, supports its belief in the Museum’s mission, educational objectives, and social impact. The Museum is one of the biggest and most innovative of its kind in the region with over 150 indoor and outdoor permanent exhibits and educational facilities such as the library and art studio along with year round educational programs and events for children.
HE Mrs. Nadia Al Said general manager of Union Bank confirmed: “This partnership comes as part of the social responsibility that Union Bank embraces. Our bank is a major partner and supporter for numerous initiatives involved in childhood and education alongside The Children’s Museum Jordan such as: Madrasati, Injaz, Jordan River Foundation and The Aman Fund in addition to a number of initiatives that focus on health such as: Al Hussein Cancer Center, and equipping children’s play rooms in public hospitals in partnership with Zaha Cultural center and supporting awareness campaigns with the ministry of health. The bank also supports several art and cultural activities and events such as the National Music Conservatory, “Al Balad” Theater in addition to “Halim Salfiti Theater” which was presented to support such events”.
